Dr. A.J. Smith graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1998. He lives in Barbourville with his wife, Kim. They have 4 kids and 6 grandchildren. Together they opened Barbourville Family Dental in 2001. Since then, the practice has grown to include several team members and a few thousand patients. He genuinely cares about his patients and their needs. The atmosphere of the office is a reflection of his heart and integrity. Outside of the dental office, you will likely find him on a tractor or playing with his daughter and grandbabies.
Darby is new to our team, joining us this year. She is a Licensed Dental Hygienist. She has practiced Hygiene for almost six years and is doing an amazing job. The patients are in good hands. We are happy to have her with us!
Judy has been with our office since the beginning! She is an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant and does a phenomenal job placing fillings along with her many other duties. She keeps us all in line and moving forward.
Charlotte has been with our office for more than a decade now! She has worked in the back for years but has recently transitioned to the front office. She works hard to make sure everything is in order.
Sarah entered the dental field in 2020 after graduating from Assisting School as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. She handles a lot of different aspects of the office and is doing a fantastic job.
Sarah joined our team in September 2022. She works both as a dental assistant and front desk. She will be one of the voices you hear when you call the office and will help in any way she can.
Amanda is the newest member to join our team this year! She has been a hygienist since 2010 so she knows what she is doing! She is fitting right in and the patients are loving her. We are happy to have her with us.
Kim has been the Office Administrator since the office opened in 2001.
